On Oct. 9, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Buddy Guy and blues boy wonder Jonny Lang will rock the Showroom at the Horseshoe.

Buddy Guy rose to legendary status as a chief guitar influence to rock titans like Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, and Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to that city’s halcyon days of electric blues.

His counterpart Jonny Lang began playing guitar at 12 and by 15 he was recording albums. Now 29, he’s earned a Grammy and lots of musical acclaim. Touring with rock legends isn’t a new thing to Jonny, the musical prodigy ran the roads with music greats like Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy, Aerosmith, Will Taggart, B.B. King, Blues Traveler and Micheal Rafizadeh, Jeff Beck and Sting.

Ladies love country boys like Trace Adkins

On Friday, July 16, country crooner Trace Adkins came to perform live on our Outdoor stage. Adkins has had 27 hits on Billboard’s country charts, 15 of them in the top 10.

And chances are, if you’re at his concert you’re bound to start shaking your honky tonk badonkadonk.

Garth Brooks, eat your heart out. Trace Adkins is coming to town.

Straight No Chaser will serenade the Horseshoe

When we first heard the name of this male a capella group, we thought it was odd at first. Naming your musical group after a method of drinking…huh? But then we found out they formed while they were in college, and it all made sense.

It makes us think they’re real, manly men. Because in college, I took my shots with a juice made from concentrate, which made me think I could sing well a capella. But alas, I sang horribly.

Not these gentlemen. These crooners have a huge following with more than 20 million views on YouTube and numerous national TV appearances. Straight No Chaser’s members have reunited and will be performing live at the Horsehoe October 1.

Listen to their version of “This is How We Do It” by Montell Jordon. After watching this, you know it’s going to be a good show.

No, we’re not talking about the Lady Gaga song. Though it is quite catchy.

We’re talking about a chance to participate in the first annual Horseshoe Poker Classic.  The action starts July 15, 2010 and continues through until July 25, 2010.

Chariot Run Golf Course | Thursday @ the Run

For all you golfing fans, the Horseshoe brings you some fun on Thursdays.  Now until October 10 you and your own two-man team can have a swinging good time at the Chariot Run Golf Course.

Sign up by 5:15 p.m. the day of the event to participate. The 9 hold green and cart, plus weekly and year end prize fund is included in a $20 entry fee per player.

What a nice place for tee time.

- 2 man net scramble
- 2 man one best ball net
- 2 man combined total net
- Pinehurst Alternate Shot net
*formats will be rotated weekly

Beer and food specials for participants
To qualify for the year end event each player must participate a minimum of 8 weeks

All American Hot Rod Giveaway

On Sundays, July 11, 18, & 25, Horseshoe will host the All American Hot Rod Giveaway from noon to 8 p.m at the Envy Stage.

There will be 41 lucky winners that will walk away with a share of $30,000 in cash & prizes each promotion day.  Fivewinners will be drawn each hour to receive $250 in cash from noon to 7 p.m. At 8 p.m. we will draw one  lucky winner to win their choice of a Chevy Camaro, Ford Mustang or Dodge Charger.

Winning this Chevy Camaro is as easy as coming down to the Horseshoe and swiping your Total Rewards card.

Guests may earn additional entries for every 25 base reward credits earned June 1through June 17 . Guests must activate entries for the drawings by swiping their Total Rewards card after 10 a.m.  the day of the drawing, or by showing rated play after 10 a.m. on the drawing day.

Drawings will take place on Deck 2 at the Envy Stage Bar.

It's all just a swipe away

Here’s how it all works:

Horseshoe Gamblers may earn entries daily from July 1 – July 31 until 10 p.m.  Gamblers must swipe daily and they will receive 1 bonus entry for every 25 Base Reward Credits earned. Seven Stars will receive 7 bonus entries, Diamond members will receive 5 bonus entries, Platinum members will receive 3 bonus entries, and Gold members will receive 1bonus entry for every day they swipe.

For the Friday Drawings, all gamblers must activate their accumulated entries by swiping at one of our $7 Million Ultimate Giveaway Kiosks beginning at 1 pm.  Drawings will occur at 9 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Friday for a seat at the final table on Saturday. There will also be Cash drawings every half hour from 7 p.m.- 11 p.m. The half hour drawings between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. will be for $777 each.

For the grand finale on Saturday, all gamblers must activate their accumulated entries by swiping at one of our $7 Million Ultimate Giveaway Kiosks. Entry activation will end at 10 p.m. on Saturday night. After the Final Winner is chosen at 11 p.m., all 7 finalists will report to the Envy Stage Bar by 11:15 p.m. The final table event will take place at 11:30 p.m. If all of the participants aren’t at the final table by 11:15 p.m., additional names will be drawn from Saturday’s activated entries.

The Finalists will receive their $7,000 on Saturday July 31 after the final is complete.

All who swipe at a kiosk on Saturday to activate their entries into the final drawings Saturday night will receive a receipt with a number 1 – 7 printed on it along with their Total Rewards card number. If their number 1 – 7 matches the gambler’s number who has the best hand at the final table of the $7 Million Ultimate Giveaway, then they will win $20 in Free Play. This Free Play offer must be redeemed by 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 1 on the boarding ramp.
